Biography
Born in Glasgow in 1948, Morrison studied at the Glagow School of Art and took up a career in teaching, becoming Head of Art in Lochgilphead High School (1988-1994) and subsequently Art Adviser for the educational system in the Strathclyde region (1994-1996). In 1997, based at his studio in Tayvallich, Argyll, he began to specialise full-time in painting in oil scenes from western island and highland Scotland. To his great credit, he has become one of Scotland's most successful contemporary artists and is instantly recognisable by the 'JOLOMO' signature and his allegiance to his key high colour, a deep azure blue. Artistic success has assisted Morrison in developing a number of religous, charitable and educational causes and interests. |
