William Woolard was primarily an artist in watercolour who painted frequently in the Lothians around Edinburgh and in areas like the Scottish Highlands when holidaying during the summer months. It is our belief that he exhibited at the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour. Original labels on pictures evidence that he lived and had a studio at 16 Picardy Place, Edinburgh.
